Welcome to the High Desert.
Where volcanic fields stretch wide like storybooks, alpine lakes reflect the clouds, and Crater Lake glows with an ancient mystery that defies words. This is one of our most adventurous trips—not because it’s hard, but because it’s full. Full of movement, sun-soaked wonder, and the type of unexpected joy you only get when you leave the itinerary open to the wild.

This edition of Trips to Nowhere is launching from Bend, Oregon—our founder’s favorite place in the country for a reason. With over 300 days of sunshine and direct access to lava flows, waterfalls, national parks, and alpine dreams, it’s the perfect jumping-off point for a weekend of chasing the good stuff.

And unlike our other trips, this one includes a one-night hotel stay and at least one campsite with showers (yes, luxury, we see you). We’ll be moving daily—not base camping—because out here, every direction leads to something epic.

THE PLAN(kind of)

This is nature. Which means it’s real. Weather shifts, trails close, skies surprise us. But that’s why it’s called Trips to Nowhere—because the destination is wonder, not a fixed point on a map. And trust: our Plan B, C, D, and E? All hit just as hard. Flexibility is part of the fun, and we’ve got magic lined up no matter what direction we move.
